Belle Mer | Newport, RI Wedding Venue

Belle Mer is pretty much a wedding photographer’s dream. Endless natural light coming through large windows, paired with white walls and white ceilings is just the kind of setting for wedding photos. The outdoor spaces are equally great, ocean views and manicured lawns, just fu**ing perfect!

Spaces at the venue

Belle Mer has four different wedding spaces and rooms (or halls) to fit weddings of almost all sizes. All of them can be paired with the outdoor spaces and for larger gatherings the smaller ones can easily be turned into a bridal suite!

The Ocean Lawn

This is the biggest space they offer. A neatly manicured outdoor spaces right in front of the ocean. The lawn can host up to 1000 guests for a garden style reception and up to 500 for a seated dinner with a dance floor.

The Water Salon

This is the gem of Belle Mer in my opinion, it’s the hall described above in the paragraph about photography. High ceilings, huge windows, white walls and beautiful natural light is the essence of this space. It is also the largest space at the venue, with capacity for about 950 guests for a standing reception and just under 300 for a seated dinner with a dance floor.

The Island House

The second largest room is the Island House, it’s just a short walk away from the main building and features slightly lower ceilings for a more intimate feel. The Island House can accommodate up to 325 guests for a cocktail party and up to 180 for a sit down dinner with a dance floor installed.

The Island House Loft

As you may have guessed, this is the space on the 2nd floor of the Island House. It is nearly 1800 square feet and can host up to 40 guests for a dinner reception. You can also use it as the biggest bridal suite in Rhode Island if you’re planning a reception in any of the other spaces.

How much does it cost?

The cost of having your wedding at Belle Mer can depend on many factors. Like with most venues, they tend to cost a little bit more from May to October, especially if you’re looking to book a prime Saturday. The starting price for weddings at Belle Mer is $185 per guest, included in that price is:

• Full day use for your ceremony and reception

• Chairs, tables and linens

• An on-site wedding coordinator

• A menu consultation prior to the date with a personal chef

• Your wedding cake

• And more

You can expect to spend $35,000 for a wedding ceremony and reception at Belle Mer during peak season.
